I craved the attention from others that sex would give me, so I separated from my husband in 1999 and went looking for it. It would be years later that I would come to understand what it truly means to be saved.

When Mom passed in 2008, I got angry with God. After surviving two open heart surgeries and three strokes, I hated Him for letting me live, and her dying. But in 2013, I decided to follow Jesus. I got to prison, entered a faith based program in there, and man my life has changed.

I was arrested for drug charges on January 23, 2015. While I was in jail, the chaplain gave me a Bible and asked me to read the red letters. I turned to John 8:32,36. The words jumped out at me: “You will know the truth and the truth will set you free,” and “He who the Son sets free is free indeed.” I laid on my bunk that night, and cried out to God, asking Abba to clean up my mess.
